CareerMarket History
2004
We asked ourselves: why are universities only interested in student numbers? But there is very little awareness of what those students can actually do once they have earned their degrees. We started looking for answers to these and other questions.
2005 — 2010
Our first projects were born, with the support of EU funding. Our predominantly ladies’ team gradually started cooperating with selected faculties of Charles University and private companies. Those were soon followed by the Czech University of Life Sciences (ČZU), the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic. We created our first databases and catalogues, organized our first career fairs, interactive workshops in schools, structured excursions, and introduced initial versions of counselling booklets etc. We were getting bigger and better!
2009 — 2013
Start of our cooperation with the Technical University of Liberec and Czech Technical University in Prague.
2013 —
We are fully independent. We are not the only ones present on the market but we are completely independent and we make our own decisions about our existence and interests. To us, even the journey is sometimes the destination and the more helpful we are to our users, the better for everyone.

We have never been ones to shy away from further education and improvement. We are two active mums and both of us are sports enthusiasts especially keen on skiing, MTB, orienteering, mountains and travelling.
Karolina
Graduated from the Faculty of Science, Charles University. Spent a year of her studies at Albert-Ludwig’s-Universität at Freiburg in Breisgau, and another two years in the US.
She enjoys interconnecting the worlds of tertiary education, career counselling, technology transfers, and promoting life science, science and research in practice. Since 2008 she has been cooperating with the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University, where a Career Counselling Centre was established. Thanks to her work there, she has become one of the leading members of the Association of University Counsellors. Later, she also took on the position of a technology scout for Charles University.
Since 2001 she has been working closely with The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF).
She has a keen interest in employment opportunities for life science and technology graduates, as well as building optimal relations between schools, students, and the private and public sector. Since we have amazingly talented people, today’s world enables them to work for anyone, anywhere.
Tereza
Graduated from the Faculty of Science, Charles University, Prague. Completed a semester-long programme in Public Health – Health Policy and Management at Maastricht University.
She started working on the CareerMarket portal with Karolina in January 2018. Every day is unique, and that is what she enjoys. She likes meeting new people, who are an endless source of inspiration to her. Thanks to new experience and opportunities, she keeps moving things forward. In her opinion, communication is the foundation of success. That, and also a professional, personal, and open attitude to clients – students, graduates, as well as companies.
For a number of years, she has been active as a project manager in the field of European structural and investment funds (OP Research, Development and Education), contributing to both one-off projects and continuous long-term cooperation in education. Her main activities include planning, event management, counselling, and public relations.
